The brief – deliver a destination experience that is anchored in the community and brings together three major partners in a cohesive and sustainable way for the future.

We provided – spatial design | graphic design | content development | production & installation | delivery management

Tangata whenua, the New Zealand Dutch community, and the local Foxton community are represented at Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom – a place where cultural, heritage, community and recreational activities co-exist. The award-winning building by Bossley Architects houses three permanent exhibition zones, a temporary gallery, café, library and council services for residents. Within 6 months of opening it had over 81,000 visitors, proving its ability to provide a destination for local, national and international audiences.

We were responsible for the design, development and production of all aspects of the exhibition spaces, where deep and connecting stories are told by the three stakeholder groups, representing them as individual, while providing areas of cohesive crossover that encourage visitors to explore and weave through the experience.
